WITH ACTION PLANS OF MUNICIPALITIES FASTER IN EU

City Municipality of Palilula was elected late last year as one of 12 municipalities in Serbia for technical support of the Project SME IPA 2007 – for making action plans of development. On this occasion, was held more consultative meetings but and two workshops for training of project teams.
President of Palilula Municipality Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, after ending of training – workshop for coordination team, which is realized in Palilula Municipality, held a press conference. Of importance of this project and method of development of plan of action, except president of Municipality Novakovic, to the representatives of media spoke and Boban Mikic, member of Municipal Council, Milan Nikolic, chief of Department of Economics and Local Development, Slavka Zupan and Jelena Mihajlovic – Tanasijevic, experts on the project SME IPA 2007.
General goal of project component Municipal planning is focusing on the help to the municipalities in the implementation of Local strategies of sustainable development (SLSD), that represents strategic plans of towns/municipalities in setting of basic guidelines of development of municipalities – highlighted expert Slavka Zupan. According to her colleagues Jelena Mihajlovic – Tanasijevic, SLSD is important link in national chain of tools for planning, connecting national strategies and sectoral plans with tasks and activities of local self government, considering daily life, obligations and needs of citizens.
Making of Plan of action is essential for City Municipality of Palilula and especially will prove important in the moment when Serbia becomes a candidate for membership in EU, because then will be available to us a number of European funds reminded Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic. Planning of what will be done in future is very important step for further development of our organization of local self government. This will make more easier work of future management to know how it will look infrastructure, how much our children will be safe, how much of park surfaces it will be settled up, how it will look Palilula Municipality.
Project of support to the municipalities SME IPA 2007 is financed by European Union, implemented by consortium led by German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ). SME IPA 2007 provide support to the municipalities through four components of the project of which the first two components focused on municipal planning and managing of finance. Project closely cooperates with Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self Government and local self governments in Serbia.
